This book uses technique "split-string stroke“ or so called "half-rest stroke“. This is the technique used by more advanced players in classic mandolin. It is very appropriate for the game on Tres Cubano. It can be described as follows. Strings G or E are tuned in octaves and sounded together in a standard strike. When you use a split-string stroke, you only play one string.
