First-time author Frank's text is simple, though highly sentimental. The tender words are addressed to "you" (the child) and share a parent's wishes for tomorrow, including bravery and kindness. Though not inherently flawed, the text itself will strike a chord more with adult readers than young listeners. This is redeemed by Meshon's (Take Me out to the Yaiku) highly recognizable and engaging illustrations. Each page pops with whimsy and endless shades of colors in acrylic and gouache. A cast of children diverse in both race and ability strike out on adventures, adorned with adorably patterned clothing, backpacks, and froggy boots. They make their way from bedrooms surrounded by city buildings through endless wilderness settings composed of highly detailed landscapes, as Frank's parent imagines what lies in store for their child on their journey through life.
