Description
Shape, form and stamp metal with The Beadsmith Wood Dapping Block. Made of a hardwood, this 2.25” has 6 hemispherical depressions of different sizes, one on each side. The dome diameters range from about 1-1/8 to about 1-9/16 or 33 - 48mm. Included in the box are 2 wooden punches, both measuring 3.75 inches (95mm). The narrower tip is 0.5 inches (13.75mm) and the wider is 0.7 inches (17.5mm). Wood blocks are best with soft metals because they do not scratch the metal being formed, which could occur with a steel block or hammer. A hardwood punch is used with a mallet to press the metal into shape and smooth it out. These tools are perfect for shaping, forming and chasing soft metal blanks. Use with other tools to create texture during stamping and jewelry making. Perfect for a metal feature on a ring or bracelet! This tool is ideal for jewelry makers, coin makers, metal smiths, goldsmiths and some repair applications. This is an essential addition for any professional crafter to add to their supplies kit.
