Description

Product Description Striving While Black is a personal reflection, a playbook and a portable mentor for African- Americans and others who didn't and don't have the advantage of trailblazers who have gone before them in forging a successful corporate career. Success in corporate America is based on not only what you know--but, as importantly, who you know and who will sponsor you, share information with you as well as advocate for you. This book shares in a straight talking manner what those who feel marginalized in corporate need to do for themselves to be seen as competitive and value added. Review Most people have a skill set; Kwame Salter has that plus a gift set. At various stages of his career, Kwame s gifts have empowered him to be a highly successful: businessman, elected public official, civil rights activist and educator. As a scholar and practitioner, he s ...been there, done that! The gifts of insight, discernment and elucidation are central to Kwame s gift set. He sees what others do not; he puts the evil eye on what is in view; and he is able to explain his observations in ways that enable others to share in his understandings. He is able quickly to defuzz issues and concepts to prove that that which seemed complex is often merely complicated and unnecessarily so. Striving While Black is Exhibit A of Kwame s gifts. Without fluff and falderal, Striving While Black gives Black aspirants and any upwardly mobile professional in any field the coaching required to arrive with one s soul and integrity intact. Striving While Black is portable, readable, witty, exceptional and highly recommended. Buy, read, learn. John Y. Odom, Ph.D. --John Y. Odom, Ph.D., Odom & Associates Good Morning!
