The ProxiMat tm (derived from Proximity Mat) helps you define your VR experience with physical feedback by providing a 3/8" thick unmistakable area to keep you aware of your location and direction. While you have your headset on, you are in the environment is generated by your VR game or program, leaving you unaware and disoriented with the actual space you are using. The ProxiMat defines not only the radius of use, but also incorporates a forward-facing button as well as a center button. These button protrusions not only help reorient yourself without having to lift your headset, but give you a quick and easy way to come back to your 'home' position or starting location by strafing your foot across the surface.
The mat is made from commercial grade anti-fatigue heavy weight foam rubber which gives you the ability to use your Virtual Reality system longer and to be more refreshed afterwards. The definition of your area by a physical ProxiMat will help correct symptoms such as disorientation and vertigo.
The ProxiMat comes in two colors (Black and Gray) Both Black and Gray are easy to clean and are made of the same style of material. The black will tend to show dirt and pet hair a little easier than the gray. Your color choice is a personal preference.
