Alissa D: Great start toteaching emotion regulation (Amazon)

This was a great introduction to emotion regulationcoaching with my 2 year old. The calming strategies are simple and useful andnot overwhelming. The examples are relatable and practical too. My son wantedus to read it over and over. A few minutes after reading it the first time hegot upset and was stomping his feet while laying on the floor... then he pausedand looked up at me with a smile and said "I took a deep breath". He was readyto go back to playing after that. We talk about deep breaths and otherstrategies but reading books about it seems so powerful for kids and Idefinitely recommend adding this one to your home library!

As a former educator who is raising two great-grandsons, I found thisbook to be helpful. The boys are 4 and 5 years old. They listened quite welland asked some pertinent questions. We had a good discussion. We liked thepictures and especially the facial expressions. I am planning on donating thisbook to our four-year-olds preschool this fall. I can see it being very helpfulthere. Highly recommended by this old lady retired school librarian. I couldhave used it at school for sure.
