In The Swim Instant Liquid Acid for Swimming Pools is a convenient alternative to muriatic acid to reduce pH and Alkalinity levels in swimming pools. Instant Liquid Acid is a granular pH and Alkalinity reducer. Instant Liquid acid is an off-white granular with virtually no odor. The first step to maintaining proper pH and Alkalinity is completing a water test. Water can be tested with a DPD/OTO droplet test kit, water test strips, or digital testing. Once a water test has been completed, we want to begin with alkalinity. Alkalinity is the buffer for the pH. If alkalinity is high, use granular Instant Liquid Acid to adjust the alkalinity between 80-120ppm*. Once your alkalinity is within range, you can start to adjust the pH. Now, re-test the water. If the pH is above 7.6, please add 1.5 lbs per 10,000 gallons. Measure out the suggested product amount per water volume. Add the Instant Liquid Acid to a chemical-safe container and mix with at least 1 gallon of water to dissolve. Pour the mixture around the perimeter of the pool. The circulation system should be running during this process. Test the water again after 3-4 hours. Repeat as needed until pH and alkalinity are within desired range. Instant Liquid Acid contains 93.2% sodium bisulfate.
