HAVEN Mechanical is a manual lock that engages with the bottom of your door for strong, reliable security. Manually controlling HAVEN Mech while you are inside your home is easy. Simply step on the right petal to lock and step on the lift wedge to collapse and unlock your door. Will Haven Fit My Door – The Nickel Test: HAVEN is 0. 8 inches high and should fit in the clearance path of most modern doors. A standard USD Nickel can be used to gauge the gap perfectly. Take a nickel, stand it on its end and make sure that it can pass under your door. *some resistance against the rubber door sweep is acceptable* If there is a gap above the nickel during the nickel test you can always purchase a riser. You can add up to 3 total risers. One comes in the box (1/8 inch thick). Additional risers can be purchased. You may need to buy longer screws if you need more than 3.
