Description
The DNA Sibling Test is used in situations where the alleged parent(s) are not available for testing. The DNA Sibling Test provides the likelihood that alleged siblings are full siblings, half siblings, or not related at all. Whenever the parent(s) in question are available for testing, either the DNA Paternity or Maternity Test is recommended over the DNA Sibling Test. However, in situations where the alleged parents are missing or deceased, then the DNA Sibling Test is the next best option for investigating the relationship of potential siblings.
Every analysis is automatically run twice, utilizing advanced robotics and analyzers in a fully accredited testing laboratory. The full genetic report is included with every test and is available online two business days after the laboratory receives the DNA sample*.
The DNA sample is collected using a discreet, quick and painless mouth swab. This test can be performed on individuals of any age, including newborns. If the individuals to be tested live in different cities, or even different countries, the DNA collection kit can be split and each component sent to a different address. The components are individually barcoded and the buccal samples will be tested together, even if sent back separately.
The DNA kit includes all the supplies required to collect a DNA sample from two alleged siblings. If DNA testing of more than two siblings is required, please contact Genovate directly.
This DNA test is not recognized in a court of law. However, Genovate also offers a Legal DNA Sibling Test and has sample collection facilities in most major cities in the United States and Canada. Contact Genovate directly to arrange a Legal DNA Sibling Test and professional witnessed sample collection.
*Poor DNA quality or rare genetic variations may delay the availability of results.
