The DNA sample is collected using a discreet, quick and painless mouth swab. This test can be performed on individuals of any age, including newborns. If the individuals to be tested live in different cities, or even different countries, the DNA collection kit can be split and each component sent to a different address. The components are individually barcoded and the buccal samples will be tested together, even if sent back separately.
The DNA kit includes all the supplies required to collect a DNA sample from the child, mother and alleged father. However, testing of the mother optional and is not required for obtaining an accurate result.
