Description
The DNA Aunt/Uncle Test is used in situations where the alleged parent(s) are not available for testing. The missing parent’s siblings can be tested against the child using the DNA Aunt/Uncle Test to determine the likelihood of a biological relationship. However, if the parent(s) in question are available for testing, either the DNA Paternity or Maternity Test is always recommended over the DNA Aunt/Uncle Test.
Every analysis is automatically run twice, utilizing advanced robotics and analyzers in a fully accredited testing laboratory. The full genetic report is included with every test and is available online two business days after the laboratory receives the DNA sample*.
The DNA sample is collected using a discreet, quick and painless mouth swab. This test can be performed on individuals of any age, including newborns. If the individuals to be tested live in different cities, or even different countries, the DNA collection kit can be split and each component sent to a different address. The components are individually barcoded and the buccal samples will be tested together, even if sent back separately.
The DNA kit includes all the supplies required to collect a DNA sample from one child and one alleged aunt or uncle. If DNA testing of more than one child or more than one aunt or uncle is required, please contact Genovate directly.
This DNA test is not recognized in a court of law. However, Genovate also offers a Legal DNA Aunt/Uncle Test and has sample collection facilities in most major cities in the United States and Canada. Contact Genovate directly to arrange a Legal DNA Aunt/Uncle Test and professional witnessed sample collection.
*Poor DNA quality or rare genetic variations may delay the availability of results.
