1. I bought a 128GB microSD card, but why the capacity is only 117GB shows in the computer?
Answer: because of the different algorithms, Mathematically 1GB = 1000MB = 1000x1000KB = 1000x1000x1000 bytes, all the manufactor use this way to mark the capacity, that means 128GB = 128x1000x1000x1000 bytes. But in computer algorithm, 128,000,000,000 bytes = 128000000000 / 1024 /1024 /1024 =119.2GB, Due to different capacity algorithms and partial capacity are used for system files, management and performance optimization, so the actual available capacity may be less than the119.2GB,usually it will be 117-119GB shows in the computer.
Similarly:
- Real capacity for 32GB card will be 28.5GB-29.8GB
- Real capacity for 64GB card will be 58GB-59.6GB
- Real capacity for 256GB card will be 236GB-238.4GB
2. Why it doesn't work for my device?
Answer: Please check the spec of your device, find the expandable storage of your device to check if it support the card.
