About the Author
Clement C. Moore (1779-1863) was a writer and professor of literature and theology. He is famously known as the author of "A Visit from St. Nicholas," later called "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." The poem was first published anonymously in the Troy
Sentinel in 1823.
