BUILDING A SHELTER
When you are out in the wilderness there is a good chance you will need to build a shelter. Especially if you are spending the night. The most simple shelter to build is the "lean-to shelter". It can be set up in less than an hour with a variety of materials and can protect you from both wind and rain.
HOW TO BUILD IT
Use paracord or cut vines as cordage to secure a long, stout pole between two trees. Cover one side with poles, brush or branches. Use The Friendly Swede Folding saw to cut through and custom fit the size of the branches needed. Then, heap leaves, grasses, palm fronds, or any other vegetation that is available on top to create a canopy or roof.
NOTE: If the wind or rain changes direction you'll no longer be sheltered.

- 8 INCH BLADE: The saw has a total length of 17 inches and the blade is 8 inches. When folded, the saw is just over 9 inches. The saw blade is made of 65Mn Steel (equiv. to 1065 Carbon Steel) and has 7 teeth per inch (TPI).
- 2 x 27.5" PARACORD: To the saw we have added two pieces of 550 Paracord. Paracord is useful in all outdoor situations thanks to its enormous durability. Fasten your hammock, make a fishing line (from the strands inside) or use as a tourniquet. The paracord can also be used for carrying the saw or for hanging it up during storage.
- SAFETY LOCK: When opening the saw the blade will lock into place to make it sturdier when using the saw as well as to avoid getting things trapped between the blade and the handle.
