Chemical sunscreens are generally thinner and have chemical actives that absorb into the body and bloodstream where they fight and break up the UV rays. Mineral sunscreens are formulated to be slightly thicker, resting on the top layers of the skin to completely block and reflect the UV rays. Unlike chemical sunscreens, Sunblocz does not absorb into the skin and bloodstream and does not contain harmful chemicals that are released inside the body.
WHY ZINC OXIDE VERSUS TITANIUM DIOXIDE? Zinc Oxide is the most effective UV blocker across the entire UVA and UVB spectrum and is a better sunscreen active ingredient than titanium dioxide. It is also safer as it limits the creation of free radicals that do damage to your cells and increase the risk of skin cancer. Zinc oxide is the sole sunscreen active ingredient approved for use on children by Health Canada and FDA.
