RĀKO COFFEE ROASTERSFounded in 2019 by sister duo Melissa and Lisa Gerben, RĀKO Coffee Roasters was inspired by a mountain encountered on a sourcing trip in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia whose name translates to ‘challenge’. Rako mountain served as the inspiration to create a coffee company specializing in high quality single origin coffees, advanced brewing methods, creative collaborations, and inspired cafes.RĀKO Coffee Roasters operates from their state of the art specialty coffee roasting facility located in Northern Virginia which features the most environmentally friendly roasting equipment available. We develop coffees that are approachable but become increasingly complex with advanced brewing methods and our unique roast profiles are meticulously designed to bring out the full potential of each coffee.
