We like to say that the Four Horsemen "represents coffee" because it includes beans from the major growing regions of the world (Pacific, Central/South America and East Africa) plus our espresso blend. It is truly a unique blend and built Ricks Roasters as a local coffee staple in Northern Virginia. We're a Veteran-owned and operated company that actively supports community and veteran charities. Ricks Roasters started in 2014 when a Navy vet and his wife sketched out the company on a dinner napkin. When the original owners retired, a few West Point classmates (all Army combat veterans) picked up where they left off. Our mission is embodied in what we call the "four Cs”: Coffee - bring the best quality coffee from around the world to our customers; Customers (enriching your coffee experience with a wonderful and satisfying cup of coffee it paramount; Causes (whether it is a veteran organization, an animal shelter, or a sports team, all different causes need help. We partner with several organizations to continue our service in a different capacity.); Community (we are a family owned business and believe in supporting strong, vibrant, and diverse communities).

We selected our strongest beans from the world's best growing regions along with our espresso blend, and Vienna-roasted them to optimize the caffeine content and boldness. A nice earthiness from the African blends combines with the smokiness of the Espresso is kept in check by the Indonesian and Central American coffees keeping it smooth, rich, and never burnt or bitter.
