You Probably Do not Need a Super SandMat - But If You Do They are AWESOME!
Of all our mats, Super SandMats are the most misunderstood and the most specialized. In most cases you either need a SandMat for your shore, or a MuckMat Pro for your lake. But for certain situations nothing compares to a Super SandMat.
What a Super SandMat Is not
It is not a replacement for a MuckMat Pro. MuckMats have steel frames to hold them down, keep them square and keep you from sinking in muck. Super SandMats do not have frames, they will not stay down or square unless you ❝MacGyver❞ some kind of frame. Super SandMats require sand, (or soil or gravel) to keep them flat.
What Super SandMats Are
Super SandMats are SandMats - with MuckMat Pro grids. They create a firm surface on soft, unstable soil - on land.
You Do not Need a Super SandMat If
If you make a sandy beach and want a base to prevent erosion, suppress weeds, and a barrier between your sand and the soil beneath it - you only need a SandMat.
You Need a Super SandMat If
✔ You sink in your own yard by the shore. It is not common, but occurs more than you had think. It happens when lake water permeates soil on shore and ca not drain. The soil is constantly saturated.
✔ Your yard has low spots that stay wet and spongy. In both cases, soil remains saturated and ca not drain.
✔ Because they are 12.5-feet wide, people use them to make boat launches and approaches, building them up with fill dirt and gravel.
