Smart design, inside and out Inside the San Souci touchless toilet you’ll see the touchless module. This little black box is filled with patented leading-edge technology: a sensor, a circuit board, a flush actuating wheel and the four AA batteries it takes to power your flush. A metal bracket suspends the module inside the tank, high above the water line, and a simple chain connects the wheel to the flush valve. The sensor projects an electromagnetic field through the lid of the toilet and extends another 2-3” above that, and the flush will activate as you break this field with your hand. This field is intentionally tight to reduce the potential for incidental flushes. Touchless toilets run on four AA batteries that should last about 6-12 months depending on usage. A low battery indicator will beep five times before each low-battery flush when the batteries have approximately four weeks of power left, so you have ample warning when they need to be replaced. There is no trip lever thanks to touchless technology, so your tank’s exterior is smooth and easy to wipe clean. An optional emblem can be placed on the toilet’s lid above the sensor to let family members and guests know where to activate the flush.
