Description
Now the same patented technology used to protect industrial waterers from freezing is available for ordinary outdoor faucets. Installed with faucet turned on (see Installation) the Freeze Miser senses the internal water temperature. It’s activation temperature is 37°F/3°C Until the activation temperature is attained, no water will be allowed to drip. After the water temperature has dropped slightly below 37°F/3°C, the Freeze Miser will release water until the internal water temperature is again above 37°F/3°C and then stop the water release. Water utilities, water wells etc. almost always supply water to the end user that is above 37°F/3°C. The Freeze Miser should not be wrapped with insulation or it will not be able to sense the cold quickly. One area of significant time and water waste is a result of having to drip faucets manually to prevent them from freezing. Typically, the faucet has to be dripping water at a rate that will prevent the faucet from freezing at the coldest temperature anticipated. This method wastes a lot of water. The Freeze Miser outdoor faucet freeze protector provides a better method of freeze protection using the least amount of water possible.
Features
- SAVES WATER |Typically, a faucet has to be dripping water at a rate that will prevent the faucet from freezing. This method wastes a lot of water. The Freeze Miser provides better freeze protection using the least amount of water possible.
- EASY INSTALLATION | Simply screw the Freeze Miser on your exterior faucet/spigot, then turn your water on.
- HOW IT WORKS | The Freeze Miser senses the internal water temperature. Until the activation temp is attained, no water will drip. Once the activation temp of 37°F/3°C is reached it will release water.
- INSULATION VS FREEZE MISER | Insulating a spigot is better than doing nothing, but insulation only slows the rate at which something will freeze. The Freeze Miser is on duty and prepared to prevent freezing no matter how long or how cold.
- ABOUT US | Freeze Miser is the result of a 5 year engineering and testing project to create faucet freeze protection that is affordable, dependable and saves water. Engineered, developed, tested and manufactured in the USA.
