So after your camping or hiking trip, use clean water to blackflush out any debris inside the water straw. This will keep the filters clean inside. Regularly flush out your water straw. Store your water straw clean and dry. Your water straw filter should be replaced when the water flow seems reduced or clogged. More helpful hints included in the instruction manual. This is an excellent water straw which includes the most popular features. The water straw will filter up to 1500 liters (396 gallons) of clean water. 1500L is equivalent to about 3168 - 16 oz plastic bottles. Water straws help save the earth by lowering use of plastic waste. Always remember to soak your water straw at least 30 seconds before using. Soaking the water straw for 30 seconds will activate the fibers inside. After soaking for 30 seconds, sipping is so much easier. Water straws do not attach to 5 gallon water jugs.
