Description

Product Description When I grow up can I be sporty like you? You can do anything you set your mind to. This is NOT your average big-sister princess! This active princess plays soccer, does yoga, falls on the ice, and scrapes her knobby knees while showing her little brother how to be sporty, too. This charming story helps children see that it's okay to fall down and scrape their knees when trying something new, even when showing off for a sibling. It's the trying and the fun that count. Through belly-flops and missed baskets, our priceless princess discovers that doing your best is all that really matters, even when your little brother is tagging along. About the Author Carmela LaVigna Coyle, not being terrifically sporty herself, recalls winning 1st place in the third grade fifty-yard dash. "I couldn’t understand where all the other runners were until I crossed the finish line. They were all far behind me! Imagine!" She was motivated to write this story by her own sporty princess, Annie. Carmela spends many a day watching her daughter not only play well, but play with grace, confidence, and kindness-- traits that, she insists, define a true winner. Carmela lives (and plays) in Colorado, with her family and puppy. Batter UP! Mike illustrated his first book, Sit on the Roof and Holler, in 1984. Now, over 20 years later, he has finished more than three hundred books. In 1994 he moved from England to Santa Barbara. He, his wife, Suzie, and their two kitties, Popeye and Rose, enjoy paddling in the sea and eating chocolate chip ice cream! Carl Gordon and his father have been a team since 1999. Mike Gordon creates the line art illustration, and the color is computer generated by Carl. He has a degree in graphic design and has recently moved to Cape Town, South Africa, with his wife and baby daughter.
